Golden West improved its record to 15-19 overall and 8-11 i after defeating IVC over the weekend. Jason Deitrich pitched a complete game for the win for Golden West to improve his record to 5-4.
Golden West defeated Irvine Valley 8-7 in a close match up at Fred Hoover field on Thursday. The Lasers are trailing the Rustlers in the Orange Empire Conference by 2 games as the season comes to a close. Golden West is currently ranked third in the conference for hitting, pitching, and fielding.
Riverside overtook the Rustlers in a 2-1 victory at Fred Hover field Thursday afternoon. Golden West was looking for a repeat defeat of the Tigers as they battled to sweep the 2 game series.
Soloman Williams socked a two-out, solo home run in the top of tenth inning to power the Golden West College Rustlers to a 3-2 win over the host Riverside City College Tigers.
Dons baseball took the win back to Santa Ana Thursday, defeating Golden West 9-4. Now tied in conference play, the two teams are battling for the better position in the OEC as they face off again in back to back games.
In a pivotal Orange Empire Conference game, Golden West defeated Irvine Valley 7-2. The Laser gave up runs late in the game to seal their fate. Rustler baseball is now 10-9 overall and tied 3-3 in conference.
Golden West could not find another run to beat out the Chargers Saturday. The Rustlers defense held Cypress after their first run in the top of the 2nd until the 8th inning. With only 1 Rustler crossing home plate, the Chargers took the win.
Golden West got on the score board right before the seventh inning stretch and held the lead to tame the Tigers 3-2. The Rustler defense held Riverside scoreless until the last inning, but 2 runs was not enough to take the win away from the Rustlers.
The Rustlers first game at home was a tribute to the late Coach Fred Hoover, despite losing the game in the ninth, Golden West counted the day a success.
