Rustlers Fall to the Falcons 0-1

Rustlers Fall to the Falcons 0-1

Huntington Beach, Calif. - Despite putting out a very impressive performance, the Rustlers (2-3-0) failed to get the result they were looking for against Cerritos College (4-1-1) Friday afternoon. Golden West came out strong and did not back down against a very aggressive Falcon soccer.

The Rustlers worked well together as a team and found themselves in some great positions that they were just unable to capitalize on.

Again, the defensive line stood strong with  great performances from Josh Garcia, William Lane, Miguel Hernandez, and Kyle Nicolau. Offensively, Max Hubert continued to be a defenders worst nightmare with his high defensive pressure and quick attack offensively.

Golden West appeared to be in control of the game against a tiring Cerritos. That is, until the 81st minute when the Falcons got a quick counter attack and crossed the ball to a wide open player back post who tucked the ball safely into the net.

The Rustlers did not conceit to defeat though, and pushed harder than ever to find that equalizing goal. With several attempts at the end of the game, the Rustlers were not able to find the back of the net. As the referee blew the final whistle, the Rustlers saw themselves on the wrong side of the score despite their efforts.

The Rustlers return to action next Tuesday, September 17th, at Cuyamaca, where the Rustlers look to return to their winning ways.
