M Soccer: Time Runs Out as Rustlers Tie Coast

Huntington Beach, Calif. - It was a physical match up Friday afternoon as the Golden West College men's soccer team attempted to hand Orange Coast College their first conference loss, alas it ended in a 0-0 tie.

The Rustlers had a big opportunity in the 70th minute when the Pirates were penalized with a handball in the 18-yard box awarding a penalty kick for the home team to take the lead. Coach Gimenez picked freshman Wilbert LoredoSuarez to take the kick, but he would be stopped by the Orange Coast goalkeeper trying to go bottom right with the attempt. The Pirates were able to clear the ball quickly and end the cleanest look the Rustlers had all afternoon at a goal.

Golden West will be back in action Tuesday, October 15th as they will travel to Cypress College for a 3pm start.
