M Swim: Finished Third in CCCAA Swim Championships

Cupertino, CA - The Men's Swimming program wrapped up their three day CCCAA State Swimming and Diving Championships with a team finish of 3rd place behind State Champion Orange Coast College and state runner-up Sierra College.

Sophomore standout Santiago Rivera from Columbia lead they way with an individual State title in the 200 yard  Individual Medley, 2nd place medalist in the 400 yard Individual Medley and 6th place Medalist in the 200 yard Breaststroke.

Team Relays : 2nd place 200 Freestyle - Nicky Ure, Alec Niederland, Miles Dunn and Blake Williamson, 2nd place 400 Medley - Aidan Lund, Miles Dunn, Santiago Rivera, Blake Williamson,  3rd place 200 Medley - Aidan Lund, Miles Dunn, Santiago Rivera, Alec Niederland, 4th place 800 Free - Jacob Thompson, Nicky Ure, Austin Cozza, Blake Williamson, 6th place 400 Free - Blake Williamson, Alec Niederland, Jacob Thompson, Santiago Rivera.

Outstanding performances include swims from:

Sophomores - Jacob Thompson with 2 Top 8 medalist in the 400 IM and the 1650 Freestyle events and a top 16 finalist in the 500 Freestyle, Miles Dunn with Top 8 Medalist in the 100 Breaststroke and 2 Top 16 finalists in the 200 IM and and 200 Breaststroke. Aidan Lund with Top 8 Medalist in the 100 Backstroke and Top 16 in the 100 Butterfly and 200 Backstroke. Connor Wallace Top 8 medalist in the 1650 Freestyle, Top 16 finalist in the 200 Butterfly, Blake Williamson with 2 top 16 finalists in the 50 and 200 Freestyle events. Liam McClafferty with 2 Top 16 finalist in the 500 and 1650 Freestyle.

Freshman - Stefan Kaminski with Top 8 medalist in the 100 Breaststroke and Top 16 finalist in the 200 Breaststroke, Alec Niederland  with 3 Top 16 finalist in the 50 Freestyle, 100 Butterly and 100 Freestyle. Nicky Ure was also a Top 16 finalist in the 50 Freestyle. Sophmore Matt Dalija unfortunately injured his leg during a preliminary swim and had to scratch from the competition. He would have been a medalist Top 8 in 2 events and Top 16 finalist in a third event.
