M Swim: Flipovic Wins State Title in 100 Breaststroke to Highlight Day 2

Los Angeles, Calif. - Freshman Srbolijib Filipovic wins the CCCAA State Title in the 100 Breaststroke to highlight day two of the CCCAA championships.

Filipovic hit the wall first with a mark of 56.08 buoyed by a solid first 50 (26.11), then the only under-30-second last 50, Filipovic scored a close win over Cumming and regular season top seed Moraes. Filipovic set the best time in the state this year.

Also Filipovic earned all-state honors with a sixth place finish in the 800 Free relay with Nico Dangelo, Filipovic, Alec Johnson and Felipe Ferreira.

Top 16 finishes also included Ferreira and Sary in the 200 free at 12th and 15th respectively. Eamon Hennessy finished 16th in the 100 backstroke.

Currently in seventh place overall out of 32 teams competing at the meet.

 

The CCCAA will wrap up tomorrow Saturday, May 7th at East LA College.
