Men's Track and Field: Finishes Second in Championships; Cervanka Named MVP

Mission Viejo, Calif. - The Golden West College Men's Track and Field program had a historic finish at Orange Empire Conference Championships on Friday under first year head men's coach Monique Henderson.

The team earned their highest conference finish in over 20 years by finishing runner-up to OCC and combined with the women to win a total of 11 conference titles. The team was led by OEC MVP George Cervanka who won both the men's 100m in 10.85 and the 200m in 22.11.  He also ran a blazing leg on the 4x100m relay which finished third. Also, a double-winner was freshman James Lim who won the 110m hurdles and high jump. His time of 15.47 in the hurdles ranks him top five in the state.
