Peter Janov joins the Golden West College men’s water polo team for the 2018 season. He started his passion for water polo at the age of seven in the former country of Czechoslovakia. He won multiple championships with the Czech and Slovak Federative Republic in the early 1990’s.

He then decided to move to the United States and play water polo at Golden West College in 1996 and 1997. He is a two time CCCAA state champion and All-American as a member of the Rustler program. During the 1997 season at GWC he was named most valuable player for men’s water polo by the CCCAA. He then transferred to the University of Southern California where he continued his dominance in the pool. Peter won a national championship in 1998 with USC and was named an All-American two more times before college career came to end.

He then transitioned to being an assistant coach for at USC from 2000-2007 under head coach Jovan Vavic. He would assist both the men’s and women’s programs at USC to three national championships in three season (Men’s 2003,2005, Women’s 2004.) He then focused his attention 2005-2016 to the Trojan Water Polo Club where he was responsible for coaching athletes aged 7-19 in all facets of the game. Currently he is a part of the SoCal Water Polo Foundation.
