Rustlers Send 3 Women to Track and Field State Championships

Cerritos, Calif. - The Southern California Track and Field Championships were held at Cerritos College over the weekend. Three freshman athletes have advanced to the CCCAA Track and Field Championships to be held at the College of San Mateo May 14-17th. 

Soccer player by the fall, and Track & Field athlete by the spring, Raena Ramirez threw a personal best of 34.53 (113'3") in the women's javelin placing 2nd in the event. 

Daria Sharova, both a Track and a Field athlete, went 17' 2.5" in the women's long jump, clenching 2nd place in SoCals. 

Golden West's top Heptathlon athlete, Elizabeth Cotociu jumped 16' 3.25", good for 5th place, and to advance to the State finals.
