Women's Track and Field: Second in Championships; Togafau Named MVP

Mission Viejo, Calif. - The Golden West College Women's Track and Field program had their highest team point total in a decade at the Orange Empire Conference Championships with 120 points scored good for a second place finish only behind Orange Coast College.

The women's team was led by Conference MVP Keely Togafau as she won top medals in the shot put, discus, and hammer throw. Her mark of 43.98m in the hammer throw ranks her second in the state. Camryn LaVine also contributed to the historic team point tally by winning the 200m in 26.29, placing runner-up in the 100m at 12.79, and running second leg of the 4x400m relay which placed third. Combined with the men's team, GWC earned eleven conference championship titles.
