Huntington Beach, Calif. - The women's water polo team built an insurmountable lead early to dominate Saddleback College 17-1 on Wednesday afternoon.
Eight different Rustlers (8-2, 2-0) scored a goal and seven of those eight score mulitple goals in runaway match from the start. Lauren Bellevia netted all three of her goals in the first half along with teammates Kylie Stablein and Kylie Hemmings who netted two goals apiece for a 11-0 halftime lead.
The Gauchos (0-9, 0-1) netted their only goal early in the fourth quarter to end the shutout bid for goalie Jessica Arevelos. Golden West would score six second half goals en route to their dominating victory 17-1.
Next the Rustlers will travel and compete in the Mt. SAC tournament this weekend Friday, September 27th starting at 9:10am against West Valley College.
