M Swimming: Takes 2nd Place in Final Day of OEC Championships

Mission Viejo, Calif. - The Golden West men's swimming program finished second in the 2019 Orange Empire Conference championships on Saturday. 

The Rustler's Travis Spaan would win the 1,650-yard freestyle (16:56.15) and Cobi White would finish third in the 100 freestyle with a time of 46.66. Michael Wang came up just short in the 200 breaststroke (2:11.50) and Manuel Agusto in the 200 butterfly (2:00.45) for a pair of Rustler second place finishes on the final day. 

The Riverside men's team used a deep roster to rack up 956.5 points to outdistance runner-up Golden West (609). Saddleback (461) finished third ahead of Cypress (387), Orange Coast (373.5), and Fullerton (182). 

The men's squad will continue on to the CCCAA State swimming championships next week May 2-4 at De Anza College in NorCal.
