M Swim: OEC Swim Championships Day 2; Rustlers Claim Two More Finals

Riverside, Calif. - Day two of the Orange Empire Conference Swimming Championships had 18 Golden West swimmers in the finals.

The Rustlers had two first place finishes in day two starting with Felipe Ferrreira earning the top spot in the 200 Free (1:44.59), while Srboljub Filipovic stood atop the podium in the 100 Breast (56.80).

Golden West placed five swimmers in the top eight to dominate the 200 freestyle finals with Ferrreira as champ and Kyle Sary reeling in a second place mark with a 1:45.10 finish. Alec Johnson (4th), Haroon Elgabalawy (7th), and Grady Cullen (8th) rounded out the dominate finish the Rustlers had in the 200 free. 

The Rustlers 200 Medley Relay squad place second overall (1:32.14), while their 800 Free Relay team placed second (7:11.59) as well. 

Srboljub Filipovic wins his second event the championships in 100 Breaststroke.

Both of the relay events finished in second place with some incredible swims as well, in 200 medley relay the Rustlers were 4 seconds faster than their seed time and then 26 seconds faster in the 800 Free relay.

Currently Golden West (449 points) is comfortably in second place behind first place Orange Coast College (615 points). 

The OEC Championships will conclude Saturday, April 23 in Riverside.
