Huntington Beach, Calif. -The Golden West Men's Volleyball team had their seasons home opener Wednesday night against the Grossmont College Griffins. The Rustlers won in four sets 25-15, 25-16, 21-25, 25-14.
Rustler outside hitters Mike Sofley and Nathan Goode led the way in kills with 20 and 18 respectively. The Rustlers dominated the Griffins for most of the night only letting one set slip. As a team Golden West recorded 49 kills, 60 digs and combined for 25 blocks.
With their win over the Griffins the Rustlers improve to 1-1 on the season. Their next game is Wednesday February 5th at home against Long Beach City College who won the state championship last year.
