M Volleyball: Goes Down in Four Sets to the Vikings

Huntington Beach, Calif. - The Rustler men's volleyball team hosted the defending state champions Long Beach City College Wednesday night and lost in four sets 3-1. 

Long Beach won the match 25-10, 22-25, 25-16, 25-13 as the Rustlers started the match by getting beat convincingly in the first set. Golden West would bounced back well in set number two winning 25-22 and appearing to take the momentum. However, after a tough third set in which they had nine errors they were overpowered in the fourth.

Mike Sofley recorded 13 kills for the rustlers as Mark Aparicio lead the team with 14 digs. However, the team only recorded 14 blocks struggling to slow down the opponent. With the loss Golden West falls to 1-2 on the season.
