Huntington Beach, Calif. - Freshman shooting guard, Makaia Smith nets a season high 20 points in 65-55 loss to conference foe, Cypress College Thursday night. 

Smith also recorded her first double double of the season as she grabbed 11 rebounds to go along with her 20 points. Freshman point guard Meghan McIntrye also recorded a double double while netting 19 points and grabbing 10 rebounds. 

The Rustlers held a slim 18-17 point lead at the end of the first quarter and fell behind before halftime at 33-31. Golden West wouldn't let Cypress ever pull away as they kept things close in the second half before ultimately falling by ten points to the Chargers. 

Golden West will return to action on Monday, February 21st for their final game of the season against powerhouse Irvine Valley at 2pm.
