Women's Swimming Takes Top Spot In Conference

Huntington Beach, Calif. - Golden West hosted conference teams Riverside, Cypress and Santa Ana for the spring season's first OEC Triple Dual meet.Despite the unusually cold temperatures, Golden West's women's swim team were on fire, leading the conference meet in points.

The Rustlers kicked off the meet taking first place in the 200 yard medley relay teammates Maragret Dix, Sam Carpenter, Zeineb Kalfallah and Lauren Vosseler finished with a combined time of 1:53.55

Freshman, Melissa Bergesen led the 200 yard ind. medley with a time of 2:11.93 and the 100 yard ind. medley (1:02.26), Bergesen also took first place in the 100 yard backstroke (1:09.33).

Lauren Vosseler took first place in the 100 yard backstroke, her time was 1:00.92, as well as first place in the 100 yard free with a time of 53.01.

International student Zeineb Kalfallah finished the 500 yard free with a time of 5:20.77 for first place, and clocked a 1:56.24 in the 200 yard free. Kalfallah also finished first in the 100 yard fly with at 1:00.31 time.
