Rustlers Shatter Records at Pasadena

An amazing 18 meet records were broken at the 15th Pasadena Invitational Friday-Saturday at Pasadena City College's Aquatic Center. 

Golden West's Madison Varisco shattered meet records in the 100-yard (58.18) and 200 backstroke (2:05.37). She also took first place in the 100 yard butterfly with a time of 56.94.

Varisco, Suzanna Gonzales, Melissa Thorn and Raney Remmey took first place in the 200 yard freestyle relay with a fast time of 1:37.76, taking over the meet record time that was previously held by Diablo Valley College, set in 2013. The foursome came together again to set a pool record in the 400 yard freestyle with a time of 3:36.73. The previous record was 3:42.54 set by Orange Coast in 2010.  Golden West women set a new pool record in the 800 yard freestyle with a time of 7:59.65.

Gonzales touched first in the 500 yard freestyle (5:04.11) and second in the 200 yard freestyle with a time of 1:57.83. She swam away with first place in the 1650 freestyle with a time of 17.43.05, beating the second place finisher by almost a full minute.
