Rustlers Stop The Falcons

Huntington Beach, Calif - Golden West wins home opener to Cerritos College 6-5, as the Rustlers posted a four-run fifth inning.  Bobby Webb and Chase Harrison each went 2-4 with 2 RBI's a piece in the Rustler win.

Cerritos jumped out to a 5-run lead in the top of the 3rd inning.  But it wasn't until the bottom of the 4th when Golden West was able to chip into the lead, as short stop Kyle Jones and 3rd baseman Bobby Webb each singled as the Rustlers were in a scoring position for the first time in the game.  Chase Harrison singled, driving in Kyle Jones, and later Josh Cunningham hit one to right field, scoring Harrison, to cut the Falcons lead to 5-2.

The Falcons couldn't get much going, as the Rustlers owned the 4th and 5th inning.  In the bottom of the 5th, Golden West tailed 4 runs to put the Rustlers up 6-5.  Daniel DeWolf sliced a single to right field, Sean Whiteman struck out, Donald Sneed doubled putting two on with one out.  Cerritos changed pitchers and the Rustlers took advantage, Bobby Webb tripled driving in Donald Sneed and Daniel DeWolf.  Chase Harrison doubled sending in the tying run, and it was Blake Cooper's single to right filed that drove in the eventual winning run for the Rustlers.

Golden West improves to 3-4 on the season will host LA Harbor on Februry 16 at 2:00pm.
