Rustlers Had Their Rally Caps On In The 9th

Huntington Beach, Calif. - Rustlers five game win streak is snapped with a tie.  Golden West (6-4) entered into today's game as one of the hottest teams in community college baseball, but they found themselves down 1-8 to College of the Canyons (5-2) in the bottom of the 7th, the Rustlers put on their rally caps and pulled within one by the time the inning came to a close, 7-8.

Canyons came back with an answer of their own, crossing the plate three times in the top of the 8th to put them up by four.  Holding the Rustlers scoreless in the bottom of the 8th, the Cougars were just three outs away from adding onto their own 4-game winning streak, not before they put one more run on the board in the top of the 9th to make the score 7-12.

The Rustlers were determined not to be out played on their home field.  Golden West put up a last minute, come from behind rally that ended up with five Rustlers crossing home plate, tying the game at twelve.  However, the game would end without a victor, as it was called due to darkness.

Golden West travels to Long Beach City College on Tuesday, Februrary 23 for a 2:00pm start.
