Rustlers Roll Past Chaffey

Rustlers Roll Past Chaffey

Huntington Beach, Calif.- After going down 1-0 in the first, the Rustlers seemed to put it together in the 4th inning, where they were able to compile a 6-run rally.

Chase Harrison reached on by a walk, Blake Cooper's patience paid off as he was awarded first base on back-to-back walks.  Josh Cunninghamreached first on a fielders choice and Harrison was out at third.  With two on and only one out, William Shaw was hit by a pitch, loading the bases.  However, it was Alex Hernandez's routine ground ball for the force out at home plate that woke the Rustlers.  Chaffey's catcher R. Cummins drops the ball scoring Cooper, keeping the bases loaded and only one out.

Steve Pascual's walk earned him his first RBI on the season, while Donald Sneedstruck out swinging for the second out.  Kyle Jonesbase hit drove in Shaw, but Bobby Webb emptied the bases for 3 more RBI's (15th on the season) and his 5th double for the year.  Chase Harrison's pop fly to first ended the inning with the Rustlers up 6-1.

Jason Deitrich (6-3) gets the win.

Golden West College improves to 17-9-1 on the season as Chaffey dropped to 16-12.  These two teams will meet again on Thursday to see if the Rustlers can sweep the 2-game series.
