Rustlers Prevail Over Irvine in 7-2 Road Win

Irvine, Calif. - In a pivotal Orange Empire Conference game, Golden West defeated Irvine Valley 7-2. The Laser (7-11, 2-4)  gave up runs late in the game to seal their fate. Rustler baseball is now 10-9 overall and tied 3-3 in conference.

Irvine Valley led 2-1 through seven innings, Golden West's only run was an unearned by Bobby Webb. The 2 runs would be all Irvine would earn for the game, while Rustlers work was just beginning.

At the top of the 8th Frank Califano doubled to center, Daniel Dewolf walked, and  Kyle Jones's single to first base, the bases were loaded. Thomas Walker doubled to left center earning a 3RBI as the Rustlers came home. Walker then scored on a single up the middle from Soloman Williams. The inning ended with 4 runs and a Golden West lead.

Sean Whiteman and Jones, who was hit by a pitch, both came home on a single from Webb at the top of the 9th and the game was over.
