Williams’ Three Doubles Powers Golden West Over Cerritos

HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif. – Golden West (5-1) hosted Cerritos (4-2) Tuesday night, beating the Falcons, 4-2. Catcher Chris Williams had an impressive day and went 3-for-4 with three doubles, two runs, and two RBI. 

Nick Hellman had a solid outindg for the Rustlers as he got the win in eight innings of work. Hellman allowed only one run on five hits while striking out four.

Tied 1-1 headed into the bottom sixth, Williams hit one of his three doubles to bring home Dillon Persinger and James Stea for the lead, 3-1. Golden West would score one more run in the eighth and closer Brett Mays would allow a run in the ninth, notching a save in the Rustlers' 4-2 win. 

Despite both teams being even with eight hits, Cerritos committed three errors. Golden West improves to 5-1 on the season.
