Golden West Hosts CCCAA Baseball SoCal Regionals

Huntington Beach, Calif. – Golden West enters as the No. 4 seed heading into this year's CCCAA Baseball Southern California Regional. The Rustlers finished the season with an overall record of 23-13 and an impressive conference record of 15-6.

Sophomore first baseman Jordan Lucio enters the tournament leading the Rustlers with 50 hits and a .350 average. Freshman catcher Chris Williams (.338) leads the team with 28 runs batted in and three home runs. Williams is tied with Dillon Persinger (.363) with 29 runs scored.

The tournament will begin on Tuesday, April 28 with a round of single elimination games to determine the final entrants into the best two-out-of-three matchups. Golden West will not be playing in the single elimination games because they enter as the No. 4 seed 

No. 4 seed Golden West will host No. 13 seed Cuesta College this weekend starting on Friday, May 1, at 2:00 p.m. The second game will be on Saturday, May 2, at 11:00 p.m. and if necessary, game three will follow 30 minutes after game two. 

Congratulations to the 2014-15 Golden West Baseball team as they received top honors as voted on by the Orange Empire Conference coaches.
