Houston Astro and Former Rustler Hurler Named to AL All-Star Team

Miami, Florida - Former Golden West Rustler Chris Devenski was recently named to the American League All-Star Team. Chris played shortstop and was the teams #1 starting pitcher at Golden West during the 2009 and 2010 baseball seasons.

Devenski is currently a relief pitcher for the first place Houston Astros and is one of the top relief pitchers in the Major Leagues. This year he has a record of 6-3 with and ERA of 2.73 while striking out 74 batters in 52.2 innings and only walking 14. Opposing hitters are only hitting .160 against him with a WHIP of 0.84.

In a recent text to Head Coach Bert Villarreal Chris said " Thank you Bert I appreciate all you have helped me with!! This is for GW". Chris went on to play at Cal state Fullerton in 2011 and signed professionally after that year.
