The Golden West baseball program received a few honors at Monday night's postseason Orange Empire Conference (OEC) meeting. Jeremiah Vison was named to the first team all-OEC team as an outfielder, as voted on by the conference's head coaches.
Vison led the Rustler's in multiple offensive categories including at bats (169), runs scored (32), hits (61), tied for doubles (9), RBI's (25), stolen bases (26), and batting average (.361). His impact as a lead off hitter is incalulable and his defensive skills in centerfield surely saved more than a few victories for the Rustlers this season.
Catcher Anthony Marquez and third basemen Logan Mahaffy were selected to the second team to add to the postseason honors. Marquez finished the season with a .302 batting average while driving in 19 runs with 9 doubles and 1 homerun over 37 games played. Teammate Mahaffy finished second on the team with a .322 average, driving in 12 runs with 2 doubles and 22 runs scored in 35 games played.
