Baseball: Zordani, Nelson, Padilla Come Through With Clutch Hits in OEC Win

Huntington Beach, Calif. - Timely hits and a strong bullpen performance helps propel Golden West College over Cypress College this afternoon 9-6.

Jeff Zordani led the Rustlers (18-14, 7-10) with three runs batted in on a two-run homerun in the second inning and a timely single in a four run fourth inning to take the lead for good. Ely Stuart followed Zordani's RBI single with a single of his own to plate the second run of the fourth inning. Then freshman designated hitter, Seth Nelson, came through with a clutch two out, two RBI base knock to cap the big four run fourth inning and give the Rustlers a 6-3 lead.

The Chargers (25-9, 10-7) continued to fight offensively as they would score a run in the fifth and two in the eighth inning but the Rustler bullpen kept them under wraps. Golden West would add to its lead in the sixth inning on a Nelson Padilla single to right center and another run came across the plate in the seventh inning on a wild pitch.

NEXT: Golden West will travel to Cypress tomorrow April 12th for a 2pm start to see who will take the three game series.
