Baseball: Salazar Dominates Early and the Offense Smacks Three Triples in Win

Huntington Beach, Calif. - Logan Gallina and Jesse Fonteboa each drive in three runs in the Rustlers 10-5 victory over Glendale College. 

Gallina went two for five at the plate with three RBI's and Fonteboa went two for four with three RBI's and triple. The Rustler offense recorded three triples in the game as Seth Nelson hit the first one in the third inning when they would take an early 3-0 lead. Vinny Tosti would belt the second triple of the game for Golden West when he led off the sixth inning and eventually scored to extend the lead 4-2. Fonteboa completed the trifecta of triples in the eighth inning with a two RBI missile to center field to help secure the 10-5 victory. 

Steven Salazar earned the win for the Golden West as he threw five innings allowing three hits and two earned runs while striking out six. With the win, the Rustlers improve to 9-6 and Glendale falls to 11-4. 

NEXT: Golden West will open up Orange Empire Conference play on Tuesday March 3, against Orange Coast College with the first pitch thrown at 2pm.
