Baseball: Four Rustlers Commit to the Next Level Outside of California

Huntington Beach, Calif. - Despite the craziness of this season, four Rustlers have inked their commitments outside of the state of California to the four-year level.

Justin Simpson, a sophomore and 2019 all-Orange Empire Conference second-team honoree has made his decision to attend Central Michigan University to continue his academic and athletic achievements. During the 2020 season, Simpson was batting .322 with three doubles, three triples, and 17 runs batted in to go along with his team leading nine stolen bases.

Outfielder, Enrique Bennett has made his commitment to the attend the University of Las Vegas (UNLV) in the fall of 2020. Offensively, Bennett second on the team with a .402 batting average, leads the Rustlers with nine doubles, and 22 RBI's in the shortened 2020 season. He'll leave Golden West with a career .377 batting average.

Right-hander Christian Santillanes is taking his talents in the classroom and on the field to Georgetown College in Kentucky. Primarily used as a reliever, he appeared in six games while throwing seven innings and striking out nine.

Centerfielder Vinny Tosti has also taken his talents outside of California to attend Arizona State University. Tosti led the team hitting .429 while showcasing his speed with two doubles, three triples, and eight stolen bases. He also finished second on the team with two homeruns.
