Golden West dominated from start to finish in a convincing 48-17 victory over L.A. Harbor at LeBard Stadium.

Harbor (0-2) forced Golden West (2-0) to punt on its first drive, but the Rustler defense picked them up in a big way thanks to a pick-six by linebacker Anthony McNichols. The momentum stayed with the Rustlers as quarterback Chris d'Entremont completed a passing touchdown to Mike Covelli to take a two score lead. Harbor would score toward the end of the quarter as quarterback Bram Kohlhausen threw his first of two touchdown passes.

The second quarter was where it all came together for the Rustlers. Nik Little caught a 43-yard pass, which set up d'Entremont's 1-yard rushing score. After two field goals, 21 yards for Golden West and 29 yards for Harbor, running back Robert Cruz scored a 10-yard rushing touchdown with 55 seconds remaining and momentum going the Rustlers' way into halftime.

Coming out of the half, it looked like there would be a repeat performance from last week as Golden West did not score in the third quarter, and the defense surrendered Kohlhausen's second passing touchdown, a 74-yard score to Corey Butler.

Fortunately for Golden West, the defense stood its ground and helped the offense score 17 unanswered points in the fourth quarter. The two touchdowns were on the ground, an 8-yard rush and a 16-yard rush by Cruz. Capping off the game was a long 43-yard field goal by Peter Marquez.

If it were not for the solid Rustler defense, Harbor could have easily scored more times. Butler led the Seahawks through the air with 181 yards receiving, and Kohlhausen threw for 264 yards and the only two scores.

Golden West takes on Allan Hancock College next Saturday, Sept. 21 on the road. The next home game is Oct. 5 against Palomar College at 7 pm.
