Rustler Football Improves to 5-1

The Rustlers were on the scoreboard early in the game and dramatically pulled ahead with a 45-10 victory over Pasadena College (0-6). Golden West football is now 5-1 overall and 1-1 in conference play.

Golden West started strong with a 7 play drive moving the ball 56-yards down the field. Chris d'Entremont connected a 17-yard pass to Luke Pastell, and with Peter Marquez's extra point, the Rustlers were up 7-0.

At the end of the first, Pasadena capitalized on a punt that resulted in a safety ending the quarter 7-2. Pasadena then made it to the end zone when Marciss Grigsby scored on a 7-yard rush, and in a successful 2 point conversion the score was 7-10.

The Rustlers held Pasadena the rest of the night as d'Entremont lead the offense back to the end zone five more times. d'Entremont scored on a 3-yard and 1-yard run, finishing the night with a total of 312-yards passing. Pastell scored on an 8-yard pass, but it was Kyrel Brown who led the team in receiving ending the night with 161-yards. Ryan Hunley scored the last touchdown of the night on a 48-yard run, a season record for Hunley.

On defense for Golden West, Kyle Haley had a 17-yard run on an interception return and DelRoy Steele added 2 sacks.

The Rustlers remain on the road this weekend, traveling to Grossmont Saturday Oct. 19th for a 1:00pm kick off.
