STATE RANKINGS | After last week's win at San Bernardino Valley, Golden West moved up one spot to No. 7 in both this week's (Oct. 23) JCAB and CCCSIA state football polls. Long Beach, coming off a huge victory at Orange Coast, moved up two spots in the JCAB poll but remained steady at No. 19 in the CCCSIA rankings.

ABOUT GOLDEN WEST | The Rustlers enter the contest with a 6-1 overall record and are currently tied with Mt. SAC on top of the Central League standings at 4-0.

GWC is coming off a narrow 20-17 win at San Bernardino Valley. A 36-yard touchdown pass from Braden Siri to Nate Jimenez with 10:46 to play in the fourth quarter proved to be the game-winner for the Rustlers.

ABOUT LONG BEACH | The Vikings put up a school-record 79 points in a big 79-17 victory at Orange Coast last week. LBCC was up 56-3 at halftime. Long Beach sits a game behind GWC and Mt. SAC in the Central League at 3-1 and is 4-3 overall.

Quarterback Will Madonna totaled seven touchdowns in the win, tossing five while running in two. Kyle Miller blocked 3 punts and scored a receiving TD. For their efforts, the two were named the SCFA Offensive and Special Teams Players of the Week.

LAST SEASON | Golden West stormed out to a 21-0 lead in the first quarter and never looked back on its way to a huge 41-17 win at Long Beach. Kross Antonnacchi ran 15 times for 123 yards while QB Ui Ale completed 19 of 30 passes for 205 yards with a TD. The Rustlers' defense limited LBCC to just 69 yards rushing.
