Huntington Beach, Calif. – The Golden West (7-0-4, 3-0-2) men's soccer team remains unbeaten on the pitch as they took the sting out of the Fullerton College Hornets (8-2-2, 4-2) 2-1.
The Rustlers Mark Hernandez netted his third goal of the season at the 36th minute mark with an assist by Anthony Saldana to take 1-0 lead into halftime. Golden West would come out of halftime controlling the ball and finally rewarded themselves with a perfectly timed header by Andres Guerra off an Ivan Pineda free kick to extend the lead 2-0.
Fullerton would finally score five minutes later to cut the lead in half 2-1. The Golden West defense would stay strong the rest of the way resulting in the 2-1 win for the home team.
