GWC's Daniel Hernandez Places First in the Southern California Championships

Cerritos, Calif. - The Southern California Track and Field Championships were held at Cerritos College over the weekend. Two sophomore male athletes have advanced to the CCCAA Track and Field Championships to be held at the College of San Mateo May 14-17th.  

Daniel Hernandez threw an impressive 57.33 (188' 1") clenching 1st place in the men's javelin throw at the Southern California Championships. Hernandez was a state finalist in the event in 2013, and will again travel to the CCCAA Championships representing the Rustlers. Congratulations on being the best in So Cal Daniel.  

Thrower Gavin Coath placed 5th in the men's shot put with a throw of 49' 1". Coath made it to the state finals in 2013, and looks to improve on his event as his last year with Golden West.
