Rustler's are Moving on to CCCAA Championships

San Diego, Calif. - The Golden West Track and Field team qualified to compete in five events at the California Community College Athletic Associations (CCCAA) Southern California championships held at San Diego Mesa College. 

The men's power duo of Jett Gordon (15ft 3in) and Ryan Fegan (15ft 3in) in pole vault finished fourth and fifth in the SoCal championships, qualifying them for the CCCAA State meet at Bakersfield College on Saturday, May 19th. 

The men's 4x100 team of JuWain Roper, Xaviar Smith, Ronale Hargo and Charles Leapheart finished 7th with a time of 44.14. 

For the women's track and field program, Arianna Torres placed 8th overall running the 400m dash in a one minute flat. Pole vaulter Jaelani Davalos placed 7th in the SoCal championships after clearing 10ft 4in but failed on her three attempts at at 10ft 6in. Davalos also qualified to vault at Bakersfield on Saturday, May 19th.
