M Track & Field: Greene Places First in Triple Jump, Blake Second in Shot Put

Aliso Viejo, Calif. - The Golden West men's track and field team opened their 2019 season at Soka University. 

The men earned one top finish as Devin Greene recorded a 12.74 meter triple jump to take first place Saturday afternoon. The Rustlers also had a second place finish in the shot put as Blake Spencer threw 13.58 meters. 

Klaus Himes finished fourth for the Rustlers in the 60 meter hurdles with a time of 9.14. Then in the 60 meter dash the Rustlers had four sprinters with George Cervanka finishing 14th with a time of 7.57 and Greene finishing 16th with a 7.77. Cervanka would then run in the 200 meter dash with a 13th place finish with a time of 23.71 as teammate Himes finished in 25th with 25.52. 

In the long but short one mile run Alaric Browning placed fourth with a 4:59 time and teammate Kyle Langdon-Weyrich finished 10th with a 5:35.73 finish. Browning then took on the 800 meter run and finished in 2:07.90, good for a fourth place finish. 

Greene and Klaus would close out the Rustlers day in the long jump event. Greene would earn a fourth place finish with a 6.13 meter jump and Klaus finished ninth with a 5.29 meter jump.
