Huntington Beach, Calif. - Golden West Men's Volleyball kicked off its 2012 campaign with a 3-1 (24-26, 25-21, 25-21, 25-21) victory over the Raiders of Moorpark.  Leading the Rustler offense was Phillip Lopez and Aaron Gerardi finishing the match with 27 kills between them (15 kills and 12 kills respectively).

After trailing in early in the first set and eventually dropping the first set 24-26, the Rustlers found strength in a trio of outside hitters Aaron Gerardi, Phillip Lopez and Jimmy Torromeo which accounted for 75% of their offensive attack.

For the contest, Sophomore setter Ryan Redira collected a team-high 15 assists.

The Rustlers travel to Santa Barbara on February 7th, for their first road match of the 2012 season
