Huntington Beach, CA ‑ The Golden West men's volleyball team had a successful showing in its 2017 home opener Wednesday night. The Rustlers cruised to a 25-16, 25-10, 25-23 victory over visiting Moorpark College in a nonconference match.
Freshmen Shilo Chow, Sterling Miles and Reid Harrison paced the sophomore-laden team. Chow (Foothill High/Nevada) had five kills, nine assists, a team-high three blocks and a dig. Miles (Mater Dei High) led the team with eight kills and eight digs. Harrison (Long Beach Poly High) had a team-high 12 assists. Sophomore Trevor Robinson had eight digs and sophomore Tyler Peck added six kills and a pair of blocks.
Golden West plays host to El Camino College at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 8.
