Miles and Taylor Pace Rustlers in 3-0 Sweep

Huntington Beach, CA ‑ The Golden West men's volleyball team dropped from fifth to sixth in the California Community College Men's Volleyball Coaches Association State Poll after dropping its first match of the 2017 season.

The Rustlers returned home Wednesday and took their frustration out on Santa Barbara City College, sweeping the 8th-ranked Vaqueros in less than an hour.

Golden West (3-1) rolled to a 26-16, 25-16, 25-13 victory. Freshmen Sterling Miles (Mater Dei High) had a team-high 15 kills with five digs and a block and sophomore Kyle Taylor contributed seven kills, seven digs and a block for the Rustlers.

Freshman Shilo Chow (Foothill High/Nevada) had a team-high 17 assists and a kill and freshman Reid Harrison (Long Beach Poly High) added 16 assists with a dig. Sophomore Trevor Robinson had a team-high 15 digs and sophomore Kysen Olsen chipped in eight kills and landed a team-highs four service aces.

Golden West plays host to #10 San Diego Mesa College at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 22.
