M Volleyball: Stung in Three Set Sweep

Huntington Beach, CA  ‑ Another tough loss to a top-ranked team in the state on Friday left the Golden West College men's volleyball team still searching for a victory in the Orange Empire Conference for the 2018 season.

The Rustlers, ranked No. 10 in the most recent California Community College Men's Volleyball Coaches Association State Poll, fell to Fullerton College in three sets. Golden West was more than game against the visiting Hornets, ranked No 7 in the state, in a competitive 19-25, 19-25, 16 -25 loss.

Freshman Luke Davis (Fountain Valley High) was the lone player with double-figure kills (12) to lead the Rustlers (5-8, 0-3). Sophomore Josh Kim added eight kills, seven digs and a block. Freshman Enzo Boggio (Schurr High) had a team-high 21 assists with a kill and six digs, sophomore Kevin Lujan tallied four kills and six digs and freshman Adrian Flores accounted for a team-high 13 digs.

Golden West plays host to Santiago Canyon College at 6 p.m. on Friday, March 23.
