Rustlers Shutout Hornets in Dominant OEC Win

Huntington Beach, Calif. - Golden West men's water polo (7-1, 1-0 OEC) shutout Fullerton College (0-7, 0-2 OEC) for their second conference victory, 21-0.

In their second Orange Empire Conference appearance, the Rustlers took on the Hornets for the teams first home OEC game. Golden West started the game off strong with nine goals in the first quarter and did not let up. The Rustlers would not allow a single goal to their conference opponent to shut them out, 21-0.

José Pedro Carvalho led the team in scoring with six goals from seven shots and a steal. Vincent Labonte was second in scoring with his five goals off of seven shots and stole the ball three times. Gonçalo Silva found the net twice, with four assists and four steals. Jose Antonio Silva was in goal for all four quarters and made five saves from the Hornets five shots. The Rustlers dominant shutout performance earned the team their second conference victory to remain undefeated in the OEC. 

NEXT UP: Golden West will travel to Cuesta College on Thursday, September 21st to compete in the Cuesta College Tournament.
