Golden West Set to Host the Mexican National Team for Double-Header

Huntington Beach, Calif. - Golden West men's water polo  (14-1, 2-0 OEC) will be hosting the Mexican National Team for a double-header on Saturday, October 7th. 

After a trip to Long Beach State, the Rustlers will host the Mexican National team for two games over the weekend. The Rustlers have won an overall of 14 games this season and have only suffered one loss to USC. Though they dropped their first game to the Trojans back on September 16th, it was a tightly contested matchup that ended 8-13. 

Scott Taylor, Head Coach for the Rustlers, has been at the helm of men's water polo since 2002. Under Taylor, Golden West has been the pinnacle of men's water polo within the Orange Empire Conference and 3C2A. The team is coming off of their sixth consecutive 3C2A State Championship win and 29th title in program history. Head Coach Taylor has appeared in the 3C2A State Championship in each of his last 21 seasons. Golden West looks to have a competitive weekend against the men's water polo Mexican National Team. 

NEXT UP: The Rustlers will remain home to host Orange Coast on Wednesday, October 11. The conference matchup will begin at 3pm.
