Rancho Cucamonga, Calif. - The Golden West College Rustlers women's basketball team improved to 8-1 on the season after a tough fought win on the road at Chaffey College Tuesday night 73-67.

After a back-and-forth battle where the lead changed eight times and the Rustlers found themselves down 10 in the first half and as many as seven in the fourth quarter but they put it together in the final four minutes to steal a victory.

Vanessa Epperson led the team early scoring 15 through the first three quarters, but it was the front court that sealed the game late. The Rustlers 6'4 center Fama Diagne added six points and six rebounds in the fourth quarter despite limited minutes due to fouls and All-CIF post player Janelly Portillo from Pacific Palisades HS added seven points and three rebounds in the fourth quarter. 

The Rustlers will now return home for a rematch with Cuyamaca College Thursday night with a 5pm tipoff.
