Women's Swimming Sweeps Invite Relays

Huntington Beach, Calif. - Golden West Swimming hosted a 9 team invite, with the GWC women's team ended the day with a total of 11 first place finishes. 

After a morning of prelims, Lauren Vosseler touched first in the 500 yard Freestyle in 5:10.12, starting the Rustlers out strong for the afternoon. Vosseler would go on to take first in the 200 Freestyle (1:55.85) and the 50 Backstroke (28.70) for a total of three firsts.

Brigitta Games finished first in 2 solo events, the 100 yard Butterfly (59.38) and the 100 yard Breaststroke (1:06.03). Lia Jorgensen touched first in the 100 Ind. Medley with a time of 1:03.71 and would prove an integral part of the woman's relay team throughout the day. 

The Rustlers dominated the 50 yard Breaststroke with Sophomore Melissa Bergesen taking first with a time of 31.34, right behind her were teammates Tori Cree (34.75), Megain Millan (34.79), and Kylie Meneses (35.83).

In the relays, Vosseler, Bergesen, Games and Jorgensen proved to be an unstoppable team. The women took first in the 200 yard Free Relay (1:40.17), the 200 yard Medley Relay (1:52.24), the 400 yard Medley Relay (4:06.98), the 400 yard Free Relay (3:40.17).
