Women's Swimming Presses On

Huntington Beach, Calif. - Women's swimming continues to showcase the hard work and dedication of the defending CCCAA State champions. Leading the team was sophomore Lauren Vosseler, owning first place in a total of four events. 

Vosseler proves to be so much more than a one dimensional swimmer, taking first places in the 50 yard Freestyle (24.31), the 50 yard Butterfly (26.80) and the 50 yard Backstroke (27.91). Then to prove her power house status, she touched first in the 100 yard Ind. Medley in 1:01.93. 

Not to be out done, teammate Brigitta Games finished first in the 200 Ind. Medley in 2:09.80, a full 27 seconds before her second place competition. Games proved her performance has endurance in the 500 yard Freestyle, finishing first with a time of 5:12.22, as well as placing first in the 100 yard Backstroke (59.18).

Sophomore swimmer Melissa Bergesen took first in the 100 yard Butterfly (1:01.68), the 50 yard Breaststroke (31.32) and helped lead the relay team of Alexandria Loveless, Games and Camille Klingfus to a first place finish in the 200 yard Medley Relay with a time of 1:58.53. 

The Rustlers will host a Finals Meet on April 4th, starting at 8:30am before they go to the Orange Empire Conference Championships in Riverside. Golden West hopes to clench the OEC title April 17th - 19th.
