Huntington Beach, Calif. - The Golden West College Cross Country program will be hosting the 27 Annual Central Park Classic this Friday, September 22nd at Central Park in Huntington Beach. Athletes from over 18 California Community Colleges will traverse the 3.17 mile (Women), 3.96 mile (Men) course. 

This year teams from Chaffey College, Citrus College, College of the Canyons, College of the Desert, East Los Angeles College, El Camino,  Fullerton College, Glendale College, Golden West College, Orange Coast College, Palomar College, Riverside City College, Saddleback College, Santiago Canyon College, Santa Monica College, San Bernardino Valley College, and West Los Angeles College will compete.

In the women's race, top ranked Glendale, College of the Canyons, and Mt. Sac are the early favorites. On the men's side, Mt. Sac coming off a major win last week at the Southern Cal Preview race should be favored followed closely by Glendale and Riverside. The weather forecast calls for ideal racing conditions with temperatures to be hovering in the high 60's at race time.

The Open 5k fun run begins at 9:30 am followed by the Women's race at 10:15 am and the Men's race at 11:00 am.
