Late Rally Dooms Rustlers

Huntington Beach, Calif. - Golden West (7-6) fell victim to a late three run rally by Glendale College (10-3) in the seventh inning to drop a close one 6-3.

Rustlers starting pitcher Stephen Knapp threw seven innings, giving up the six earned runs on thirteen hits while striking out five batters. The offense did all it could against Glendales trio of pitchers on the day, but they eventually ran out of time and outs. Zakk Morgan and Jeff Zordani paced Golden West as the only two in the lineup with multiple hits. Morgan went 2 for 4 while Zordani went 3 for 5 with two runs scored.

The Rustlers didn't go quietly in the bottom of the ninth inning as they were able to score a run on two hits. Nick Tingrides would hit an RBI single to bring the possible tying run to the plate. Glendale would bring in their closer and the next batter Zordani, would ground out to the shortstop to end the game and comeback.
