Baseball Set to Begin 2024 Season

Huntington Beach, CA - Baseball will start the 2024 season on Friday against the Palomar Comets at the Orange Coast College ballpark.

The Rustlers are coming off a successful 2023 campaign in which Head Coach Andrew Ramos and his team competed in the 3C2A postseason bracket. Golden West finished last season with an overall record of 21-22 and a conference record of 6-15. Though the team struggled against Orange Empire Conference opponents, there were bright spots to take note of. The Rustlers managed to take two of three from the Cypress Chargers, Orange Coast Pirates and a game from the 2023 State Champion Santa Ana Dons.

At the start of May, Golden West found themselves in Round One of the SoCal Regional bracket. The Rustlers faced off against the Santa Barbara Vaqueros but lost the third game by only one run, 4-5. As a unit, the squad ended the year with a .294 batting average, 29 home runs and 304 total runs scored. With a large returning cast of players, the Rustlers are prepared to learn from their experience and push their way back into the 3C2A playoffs.
