Football: Former Rustler Standout Signs with Denver Broncos

Following the completion of the three-day NFL draft, Zimari Manning as signed a free agent contract with the Denver Broncos.

During his two year career at Golden West College, Manning caught 86 passes for 1,543 yards and caught an astounding 33 touchdowns in 18 games. He then transferred to Division II power Tarleton State University where he finished third in the Harlon Hill voting – an award given to the nation's top player in NCAA Division II.

Manning (6-2, 200 pounds) caught 68 passes for 1,462 yards and 22 touchdowns as a senior at Tarleton State University. He had a monster game against UT Permian Basin last September, catching seven passes for 257 yards and three touchdowns.

Manning ended his two-year career at Tarleton State with 112 receptions for 2,409 yards and 34 touchdowns in 24 games.
