Huntington Beach, Calif. – After finishing the 2022 season capturing the Patriotic Bowl and finishing 9-2 overall and 4-1 in Southern League action, six Rustlers have been selected to the first team.

Offensive lineman Trent Leicht, wide receiver Nick Kennewell, running back Jared Johnson, offensive utility Justin Hintze, inside linebacker Jonah Laban, and outside linebacker Khilyn Neal.

Sophomore wide receiver Kennewell was also a unanimous selection after finishing the season with a team high 35 catches for 555 yards and seven touchdown receptions.

Sophomore running back Johnson finished the season gaining 311 yards on the ground on 63 carries for 4.9 yards a touch while finding the endzone twice.

Sophomore utility player Hintze led the team in total points with 48 as he completed 21 extra points, five field goals, and tallied two pick sixes on the defensive side as a safety.

Sophomore Laban an inside linebacker was also a unanimous selection after finishing the season with 47 tackles, two and half sacks, and nine tackles for a loss.

Sophomore outside linebacker rounds out the Rustlers first teamers after another successful campaign with the Rustlers. Finishing second on team with 49 tackles, four interceptions, and eight tackles for loss.
