M Basketball: Second Half Dooms Rustlers, Kirksey Drops 14 in Loss

Huntington Beach, Calif. - The Golden West men's basketball team played host to the Riverside College Tigers Friday night. It was a game where a second half collapse by the Rustlers would allow the Tigers to steal a win on the road by a score of 65-58.

The Rustlers would be in control for most of the game, not falling behind the Tigers until 7:25 left in the second half when Riversides Sammy Richardson would score off of an offensive rebound. After falling behind, the change in momentum was too much for the Rustlers to overcome as they would never regain the lead and would allow Riverside to escape with a victory despite leading for the first 33 minutes.

Golden West's top scorers were starters Justin Kirksey with 14 points and Christian Anderson with 13. However, it was Riversides Edwyn Collins who came off the bench for 16 points including a pair of 3 pointers to spark the Tigers that would prove to be the difference maker.

Golden West falls to a record of 3-18 on the season and 1-8 in conference play. Their next game will be on the road Wednesday night at Saddleback College.
